The World According to Nathaniel Jacob...

Sam and I took Nate to the Adventure Aquarium on July 21st... we had a great time. I think Nate was more interested in the children running all over the place than the fish, but that's okay. When we were able to hold him close to the glass, he would stare intently at the colorful fish moving in the water. He would hit the glass with his hand as if to say - how can I get in there?

Nate also had his first "pool party" at his cousins Jeremiah and Joseph's birthday party on July 15th... Thanks to their mom Rosie I was able to get the pictures from that day... At first Nathaniel kneeled at the side of the little pool and began to splash. When the other little ones began to get more excited about the water, he splashed even more. We were able to get his shoes and socks off just in time because the next thing I know is Nate is sitting in the middle of the pool having the time of his life! He didn't even give me a chance to put his swim trunks on! Needless to say, his clothes and diaper were soaked - luckily I always bring a change of clothes! The pictures really came out great- thanks Rosie!

Well, Nate is 17 months now and truly becoming his own person. He has been talking and repeating even more than before. He has also been using the potty regularly now - I am very proud of him. I can't imagine a day when I won't have to change a diaper!

Summer is finally here and I am enjoying every minute of it. Sam and I took Nate to Ocean City on the 4th of July, and we had a wonderful time. I think Nate knew we were headed to a fun, new place because the boy did not want to nap on the ride there and didn't take a nap ALL DAY! We walked (well, Mommy and Daddy walked as Nate strolled) the boardwalk and checked out the Wonderland park. I wasn't sure if Nate would like the rollercoaster just yet (just kidding!), so we braved the carosel. It was something I will never forget. The carosel's lights danced off Nate's big brown eyes as we watched the world spin around us. At one point, he laid his head back on me, and life could not get any more sweeter. Afterwards, Nathaniel and Daddy walked down to the beach and Daddy covered his bare, fat feet with sand. He tried to lift them both up at the same time, and he kept reaching up to Sam to pick him up. He didn't cry, but I think the sand just puzzled him! We tried staying for the fireworks, but the thunder and lighting postponed them to almost 10pm... Nate was knocked out by 9pm, so we headed home with some wonderful memories of Nathaniel's first trip to the beach.
